A MUST READ; A LETTER TO MTN

Dear readers,  I had stopped posting this type of letters to avoid being on the side of any network provider, although they are all the same bad networks, but when I read saw this one, I  decided to post it, because I  have also had my own share of MTN network wahala.  The letter here says it all, the regulatory body needs to wake up to to these problems facing Nigerians as regards quality of service.

Dear MTN,

It is with utmost displeasure that I write you this letter from my inner most mind; in fact I just woke up this morning with sadness because am sick and tired of your hanky panky network issues.

You go about parading yourself as the biggest with the widest coverage in Nigeria where as beside my house you have your mast erected and hardly can I make or receive calls clearly as one who is close to the base station.

I wonder why you were even given the licence to operate on this soil, perhaps the government was looking for investors in the telecom industry so our Giant NITEL could be frustrated as it is now. I remember back in the days when even in the smallest village we could use NITEL lines clearly without so much interference not to talk of now that  there is so much improvement in the industry.

I wouldn’t blame you! I would blame the government who have failed to check on their regulators (NCC) hom are saddled with the responsibility of ensuring that citizens who pay for service enjoy the best of quality of service.  Come to think of it why do you keep running promos when the service is even worst; is it to make money from me ehn?  I thought the Nigerian Communications Commission stopped you and your fellow mates of not running promos until quality of service is assured, you have resumed again with bad services abi!

You will agree with me that if you were to try this rubbish in South Africa where you emanated from, you will be jailed for defrauding law abiding citizens of their hard earn money, yes its FRAUD! For the past two weeks I recharged my phone but unable to neither make calls nor even check my account balance, this is one of the many problems I have been battling with this your network.

The worst is even this your unsolicited text messages that keeps my phone beeping every minute of the day as if I am  one your customer care  agent. Messages like “download MTN PLAY, TEXT HNW to 4900 @N30/wk, win movie tickets and all sorts” for crying out loud I didn’t ask for it and i don’t want, please go and put all your adverts on billboards, TV or even Radio.

As for your BBM service, that would be a special letter for another day. I know if I had sent this letter to you call centre, the message would not have been well conveyed, so I decided to post it through the more effective post (FACEBOOK), I hope is well delivered and digested.  ENOUGH IS ENOUGH BE WARNED!
Yours Sincerely

Esteem MTN User
